The Gaither Spradling Library houses hundreds of photographs from Itawamba County's past. As an ongoing project, the society will be publishing these photographs online. If you have old photographs from Itawamba County's past, please consider sharing them with the society and fellow researchers. Photograph copies may be mailed to the society at: PO Box 7, Mantachie, MS 38855. Scanned images may also be emailed to the society. The society will publish submitted photographs in the online collection, and also place a copy in the Gaither Spradling Library.

David Buse (born April 1854, died Oct. 27, 1932 in Texarkana, Arkansas) lived near Mantachie before moving to Texas. He was the son of William and Stacy Harriet Johnson Buse. He married Nancy E. May in Itawamba County on January 16, 1873
Thomas Buse (born March 1862, died December 1912) with wife Mary Gassaway of the Mantachie area. Thomas was the son of William and Stacy Harriet Johnson Buse. Mary Gassaway (born 1862, died November 1938) was the daughter of James W. and Mary Elizabeth Cooper Gassaway.
The John Buse family of the Oak Grove area. John Wesley Buse was born February 3, 1858 and died December 3, 1928. He married (1) Julia Meeks on January 16, 1879 and (2) Clemmie Turner on November 6, 1901. He was the son of William and Stacy Harriet Johnson Buse
James Herrington McMillen and wife Mary Brown of the Fawn Grove community. James Herrington McMillen (born July 12, 1858, died March 5, 1948) was the son of James Richard and Nancy Kingsley McMillen. Mary Brown McMillen was the daughter of John L. Brown and Charity Truett. John L. died in Civil War service on March 28, 1868 at Dalton, Georgia and Charity married (2) William Sheffield

He was born March 20, 1857 and died September 18, 1944. Elizabeth Gillentine was born June 8, 1858 and died September 11, 1940. She was the daughter of William Throckmorton and Mary Rhyne Gillentine
Elijah and Jane Cofield Cockrell. Elijah Cockrell was born September 7, 1847 and died March 19, 1918. Jane Cofield Cockrell (born May 8, 1854, died December 15, 1931) was the daughter of Lewis Elbony and Mary Ann Collins Cofield
James and Nancy Cockrell Thornberry of the Centerville Community. James P. Thornberry was born Decmeber 1868. Nancy Caroline Cockrell Thornberry was born 1870 and died 1964. She was the daughter of Elam and Caroline Devaughn Cockrell
Rev. Benjamin R. East and wife Jane Cockrell. Benjamin East was a Methodist minister in Itawamba County. He was born March 28, 1848 and died June 4, 1928. Eliza Jane Cockrell was born September 8, 1851 and died November 14, 1933. Rev. Benjamin East was the son of Benjam and Margaret Griggs East. Eliza Jane Cockrell was the daughter of Elam and Carolina Devaughn Cockrell
